Font Dungeon
A downloadable game for Windows
Font Dungeon was designed to be my final project for a college course on programming and in-engine Unity development. We were given the option to do any kind of game we wanted, so I decided to make a game that was meant to contain some roguelike elements to it. Though it's probably evident that this is a game made in 4 weeks by a single person.
In general it's just meant to be a game made with simple graphics that follows a simple loop of exploring dungeons, defeating enemies, gathering XP, leveling yourself up, and repeating that until you either die or reach the end of the dungeon. I did try to add some variation in enemies as certain enemies can inflict status debuffs or have attack modifiers to them. There is also some slight room variation as later levels have low chances in spawning unique rooms with unique enemy types.
There are still a few bugs that I still need to iron out at this time, though the current product is at least playable and stable. Though the main bugs I want to try to work out is getting the UI to snap correctly to proportions, and increasing the gameplay speed so it isn't so slow. Though I'm not sure why it became this slow, it ran rather quickly in Unity itself. I also want to change the music to something royalty free and not taken from other video games, but will need to find stuff that works. It's also possible of there being some bugs that I may not have caught during initial testing, so I apologize if that results in any inconveniences while playing.
I do not nor do I ever intend on selling this product. It is designed to be a prototype of a concept and a showcase of my work as a designer. Nothing here is designed for commercial use. Thank you.
Credits:
- General game and concept was developed by myself.
- A portion of the programming in regards to dungeon generation and enemy management was derived from The Sleepy Koala's Unity Roguelike Tutorial series. Though not everything was copied from this series.
- The current music used was mostly taken from other video games I've played. The entire music listing can be found here.
